The Head & Neck Oncology, Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital was founded in 2018 by Carlos A. Ramirez, MD DDS FACS.
Dr. Ramirez is a graduate of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at this same institution. After graduation, Dr. Ramirez completed fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction, at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Upon completion of his fellowship training, Dr. Ramirez returned to the health system to establish of a Center of Excellence Head & Neck Oncology, Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery service line.
The program accepts two trainees per year and is in the process of applying for accreditation through the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
Dr. Jonattan Angulo obtained his dental degree from Central University of Venezuela in Caracas and went on to complete his OMFS residency at Pontifical Javeriana University in Bogota, Columbia. His is currently his second year Microvascular Fellow at Ascension Macomb-Oakand Hospital.
Dr. Sanjuan earned her medical degree from Valencia University of Medicine in Spain and completed her OMFS residency training at the University Hospital Reina Sofía in Córdoba, Spain. She recently completed one year of Head and Neck Oncology, Mircrovascular Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship training at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. She is currently completing a second year of fellowship training at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital.
